Introduction
 |

 |

Monterey County enjoys a large concentration of post-secondary education and research institutions. Language schools, marine and oceanographic sciences offer unique programs that bring students, visitors, and other professionals into the region. A strong mix of colleges, universities and vocational programs, these programs and others represent a strong, fast-growing, though small, cluster. There is also potential to grow and retain high-tech manufacturing and machining activities from the marine discoveries taking place in the region.
